Welcome to Understanding Alzheimer’s disease (AD), an educational portal to enhance knowledge and awareness of key topics underpinning the early diagnosis of AD.

Diagnosing AD in the early stages is extremely challenging; as such, a significant proportion of individuals in the mild stages of disease are undiagnosed, delaying potential risk factor mitigation and treatment planning. An increased understanding of key pathophysiological drivers of AD has led to the introduction of biomarkers, which can aid in an accurate diagnosis of AD earlier in the clinical and pathological process.
